Ceremonies
Sacred Heart Catholic School is pleased to announce that we will be having a Graduation Mass followed by a Commencement Ceremony for our SHCS Class of 2025 on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 6pm. Our Graduation Mass and Ceremony will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Congratulations to our Class of 2025, we will be praying for each and everyone of you as you move on to the next chapter of your lives.
Each year, Sacred Heart graduates are welcome to attend a special Baccalaureate Mass celebrated in unity with all Catholic graduates within the Sacred Heart Parish. This year’s Baccalaureate Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The date and time for this Mass will be announced at a later date.
Participation is required in Sacred Heart Catholic School’s Graduation Mass and Commencement Ceremonies for all graduating seniors, as is participation in rehearsals. Attendance at Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Baccalaureate Mass is highly encouraged, although not a requirement.
Requirements
The diploma plan offered at Sacred Heart Catholic School specifies 30 credit hours to be earned by each student for successful completion of the Distinguished High School Program. Sacred Heart academic requirements for graduation are determined by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. High school students are also required to complete a minimum of 25 Christian Ministry hours per year to fulfill a 100-hour graduation requirement.
Senior Honors
Graduating senior honors and awards are determined based on the cumulative numerical average of the first seven semesters of high school. Valedictorian and salutatorian will be announced after the fall semester of senior year while cords and medallions are presented early in the spring semester.
