Family Formation

Family Formation is a catechesis program that focuses on helping families grow in the transforming love of God by understanding and living the Catholic Faith.

Family Formation is available to all Sacred Heart Parish families with children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Family Formation meets every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 7pm. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, Father Hoodenpyle teaches a lesson to parents in the SH Community Center, while catechists teach the children in separate classrooms of the SH High School building. Sacred Heart Catholic School

While the primary classroom of Catholic education and evangelization is reserved for the home, the primary mission of Sacred Heart Parish is to assist in raising future generations of Catholic saints. Sacred Heart Parish achieves this mission through our Catholic school. Located on Parish grounds, Sacred Heart Catholic School is a parochial school and the only remaining PreK-12 Catholic school in the Fort Worth Diocese. Sacred Heart has provided an outstanding Catholic education for students since 1890. While many changes have taken place over the years, Sacred Heart continues its mission of providing a high-quality education in which the Catholic faith is not taught simply as an academic subject, but is interwoven into the entire curriculum.

Parish Library

Our Sacred Heart Parish Library is located in the church by the north entrance. This small library offers parishioners access to a variety of Catholic books, informative resources and multimedia items for adults and children.

Parishioners are asked to sign out books, DVDs, CDs or other items by placing their name, phone number, date and title(s) of material borrowed on the Sign-out Sheet clipboard. Upon return, parishioners should fill out the ‘Date Returned’ portion of the sheet and place materials in the return bin.

The library is open whenever the church is open. For questions or more information, please contact the Parish Office at 940.759.2500.

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

RCIA is the process through which any unbaptized person over the age of 7 or anyone who has been baptized in another Christian denomination prepares to join the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion. Classes meet at 6 pm on most Thursdays at the Pastoral Office Conference Room, 212 E. 6th Street in Muenster. You are welcome to come with your questions about the Catholic Faith.
