Sacred Heart Athletics
Where passion meets performance…
Sacred Heart Athletics has a long standing tradition of excellence. Our athletics program is not based on an exclusive “try-out”’ system, but rather all students are encouraged to participate in sports to help shape them into resilient individuals and team players. At Sacred Heart, students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports including cross country, track, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, golf, cheer and dance.
Our dedicated coaching staff works with student athletes to foster their God-given talents and transform them into strong competitors. Our coaches instill the values of discipline and determination in their teams to guide them towards their full potential. Whether it’s the excitement of victory or lessons learned in defeat, our Sacred Heart athletics program cultivates character, leadership and camaraderie—both on and off the field. Most importantly, our athletics department strives to raise athletes who glorify God above all things.

TAPPS & NTIL
Sacred Heart Catholic School is a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Chartered in 1978, TAPPS serves to organize, stimulate, encourage and promote the academic, athletic and fine arts programs in an effort to foster a spirit of fair play, good fellowship, true sportsmanship and wholesome competition for boys and girls. From a humble beginning of 20 member schools in 1978, twelve of which remain members, TAPPS has grown to a membership of 230 schools with over 40,000 students. Sacred Heart’s fine arts and athletics programs fall under the TAPPS 2A classification of the six district classifications across the state of Texas. For more information or to view SHCS TAPPS rankings, go to: https://tapps.biz/
For junior high sports, Sacred Heart is a member of North Texas Interscholastic League (NTIL).
Letterman's Club & Football Program
High school athletes may earn letters as part of the Sacred Heart Letterman’s Club for participation in sports. Letters are awarded at the discretion of the head coach of each varsity sport. The Sacred Heart Alumni Association awards letter jackets to students who have achieved multiple honors, earning seven athletic letters or a combination of nine fine art and athletic letters. For more information, please reference the SHCS Handbook (Sec.XII).
All students who are members of the Letterman’s Club are responsible for selling football program ads in the early fall. All program advertising sales go to fund travel and lodging expenses for extracurricular events including all Sacred Heart athletics, academic and fine art competitions.

Summer Camps & Workouts
Sacred Heart student athletes are encouraged to stay active year round. Summer workout programs are offered in an effort to keep athletes in top shape and prepare them for upcoming seasons. Our coaches also host a variety of fun sports camps throughout the summer for rising young athletics. See below for information on our Sacred Heart summer sports camps.
Sports Physicals
Students in grades 6-12 who are participating in sports are required to complete a physical examination on or after May 18, 2024, and the physical form must be submitted to the SHCS office by August 1, 2024.
Students in grades 6-12 who are participating in summer workout programs must be registered for the next school year and have their physical form submitted to the SHCS office before participating in any summer programs. This is an established policy and there are liability concerns for those not registered.
